    In short

    What support can include

C-section recovery support can include maternal observations, prescribed medicine support, wound checks, feeding support and practical newborn help. A nurse or midwife handles clinical tasks, while a caregiver or newborn professional can cover non-clinical routines according to the assessed plan.

    Who this is for

    • Families needing wound checks
    • Parents arranging feeding support
    • Families needing practical newborn support

      Records and escalation

Care is delivered at home only when the assessment, professional scope and home environment make it safe and appropriate.

    Step by step

    How this works

    1. 1Postnatal care and Omugwo

The assessment separates clinical mother-and-baby care from broader Omugwo, night, meal and household support.

    2. 2The home assessment

An assessor reviews the person’s needs, home, routines and risks, then confirms the care plan, professionals and hours required.

    3. 3What can be delivered at home

Care is delivered at home only when the assessment, professional scope and home environment make it safe and appropriate.

    4. 4Escalation and the emergency boundary

Staff follow a documented escalation process, but emergencies must go directly to the emergency services.
