    In short

    The short answer

Hire a postnatal nurse or midwife when mother or baby needs clinical observations, wound checks or professional feeding support. A newborn nanny provides childcare and routine support; professional Omugwo is a broader paid mother-and-baby arrangement that may combine care, night support, meals and household help.

    How to decide

    • Separate clinical mother-and-baby needs from childcare and household support.
    • Decide whether overnight support is required.
    • Record feeding, sleep, safeguarding and authorised-contact arrangements.

    What it costs

    Indicative fees

A guide to what care typically costs. Your fee is confirmed in the care plan agreed after the assessment.

    One-off, before care starts

    The home assessment

    ₦35,000

A care coordinator visits once, before any care begins, to understand the needs and the home and agree the care plan with you. It is separate from the price of the care itself.

    Step by step

    How this works

    1. 1Postnatal care and Omugwo

The assessment separates clinical mother-and-baby care from broader Omugwo, night, meal and household support.

    2. 2Childcare and safeguarding

Childcare duties, specialist support, safeguarding and authorised collection arrangements are agreed in writing before support begins.

    3. 3The home assessment

An assessor reviews the person’s needs, home, routines and risks, then confirms the care plan, professionals and hours required.

    4. 4How pricing works

The assessment is fixed-price; defined services use published prices, live-in care has a from price, and other ongoing and package care is quoted after assessment.
